As he watched the two sisters reunite and talk, he stood off to the side. As the dark lion remained there in respectful silence he couldn't help but feel a small twinge of envy. How he wished he was not an only son. What was it like, to have brothers or sisters? Even cousins, aunts, uncles? As far as family was concerned, he had no one. Not anymore. ... Perhaps it was best. Of course, he recalled, he supposed he still had Imena. She was still betrothed to him but he hadn't seen her since he was taken out of his homeland. Abasi didn't even know how to approach that. 'Hey remember me? We've been engaged since we were cubs!' That would not do. Abasi was rather convinced of himself anyway that he was unable to fall in love. Still, despite how much he resisted, he couldn't help but feel some jealousy at the reunion taking place before him. Abasi wouldn't let that on of course.
Hearing Kata approach, he was a little surprised when she bumped her head against his nose. A friendly and thankful gesture no doubt but he was quite unused to displays of affection, especially toward him. Abasi was thankful he could hide his expressions so well unless he chose to show it. He gave a nod to her question. "Of course, not to worry. You really ought to go on and speak with your sister. I was glad to be of assistance. ... Good night." Abasi then turned away and headed back to Pride Rock. It was Kata's chance to flee from here and never turn back, but he knew better. She likely wouldn't. Perhaps one day she and her siblings would make it to a better place.
