Appearance: Inheriting the light brown pelt and purple colored eyes of her mother, Malaika also has dark ear rims of her father. Appearing delicate and soft, she is anything but. An angel as her name means, Malaika's appearance is overall cute and pretty and will likely grow to be a beautiful young lioness. However she is agile and strong for a cub having to contend and play with so many siblings. Her coloring aids her in camouflaging when there is a need to hide.

Personality: When Malaika was a younger cub, her father took her two older brothers away with him to another land after a dramatic event between the family. This event had a tremendous impact on Malaika's life and personality and arguably will shape her into the lioness she'll be. She is very emotionally driven, involving herself completely in the heartache and needs of those around her. Placing her whole heart in the affairs of others, as well as bearing her own heartache, she is often easily reduced to tears. Malaika largely does much in preventing their family from falling apart and takes on many responsibilities to the point where she fills the role of mother when Shani is not around. As such, Malaika has a very maternal personality and often behaves as a motherly figure to her siblings.

Malaika is caring and compassionate, and is often marked by a fierce determination to aid others, in doing so, she herself will never turn away from those who need her help.

On the other hand, Malaika can be overly domineering. For all her kindness and compassion, she is sometimes very self-righteous, has a rather nasty temper, and can be extremely fierce when provoked. With lack of sleep, this side of her can quickly become more apparent. She also is very set in her ideals and frequently refuses to relent on her views in the face of opposition. Combined with her strong sense of compassion, this gives her a very strong sense of justice and she will run headlong into often dangerous situations to help others.

Despite her compassion, Malaika is one of the least willing to let go of a grudge, especially against those who she felt have betrayed her trust.

History: Malaika was born in the Lowlands to Shani and Shinikizo. Among a litter of five it was probably a handful for the young mother. Malaika grew to believe nothing could separate them, feeling very close to her siblings. Yet how wrong she was. Their father wanted to collect her brothers, Jabari and Ziko to remain with him in the Coldlands. No one wanted to let them go but things got out of hand when her father began threatening her mother. Even with the queens there to support Shani, Malaika was horrified by his actions.

Tearing the family unit apart was not what she wanted nor ever expected. With two of her brothers taken away, Malaika grew to somewhat resent their father for doing such a thing. In turn, she has become motherly towards her remaining siblings, doing what she can to please her mother. Malaika fears one day of losing her entire family.
